Introduction

The Khinalig–Galakhudat–Griz–Grizdehne 3-Day Trek is a rewarding journey through the heart of Azerbaijan’s high Caucasus. Beginning in the ancient mountain village of Khinalig, the route leads across wide alpine pastures to Galakhudat and continues through dramatic ridgelines to the historic village of Griz. The final day follows the scenic Eh Trail down to Grizdehne, passing through lush valleys and changing landscapes. This trek offers a perfect blend of breathtaking nature, cultural immersion, and authentic village life in the mountains.

 


Necessary items to bring:

  • Backpack (25–35 liters)

  • Seasonal mountain clothing (trousers, shirt, warm layers, jacket, coat)

  • Mountain shoes (high-ankle recommended)

  • 2–3 pairs of socks
  • Sun protection (sunglasses, sunscreen, headwear)

  • Water bottle/thermos

  • Personal medication & basic hygiene items (toothbrush, toothpaste, wet wipes, sanitizer)
