Introduction

The Khinalig–Galakhudat–Griz–Laza 3-Day Trek is a spectacular journey through the highlands of Azerbaijan’s Greater Caucasus. Beginning in Khinalig, one of the world’s oldest and highest inhabited villages, the route leads across vast alpine pastures to Galakhudat and continues through dramatic ridges to the historic village of Griz. On the final day, the trek reaches Laza, famous for its breathtaking waterfalls and mountain scenery. This multi-day adventure combines stunning landscapes, authentic village life, and unforgettable trekking experiences in the Caucasus Mountains.

 


Necessary items to bring:

  • Backpack (25–35 liters)

  • Seasonal mountain clothing (trousers, shirt, warm layers, jacket, coat)

  • Mountain shoes (high-ankle recommended)

  • 2–3 pairs of socks
  • Sun protection (sunglasses, sunscreen, headwear)

  • Water bottle/thermos
